Esqual is not a new type of flamenco
but a very interesting UL-plane from Spain. This is one more low-winged, composite
rig for side-by-side fliers from Spain. The empty weight is only 230 kg.
The construction is of monocoque fiber glass. The wings are of fiber class
outside with carbon fiber beams and the flaps go plus and minus. No wonder
that this beauty cruises 230 km/h with its Rotax 912 ULS and got VNE up to 280
km/h. More good news: the stall speed is only 60 km/h and electric trim is included. Look
for more info and delightful pictures at : www.esqual.com..

Apollo Jetstar
with Rotax 912 Four stroke engines are getting popular even
in trikes. Apollo Jetstar is one of those with four stroke Rotax912 with 80
hp thrust. The good news is higher reliability and lower noise. The rig is now
approved with XP 16 wing from Air Creation. A new engine from Verner is being
tested and can be an interesting possibility for trike-flyers. Verner 133M is
four stroke engine that weights only 64 kg and produces 78 hp. A prototype
is tested and the production should start in 2002. For more info look at www.ul-bolaget.se.
